Behavioral Programs at CSLS help typically developing children and children with
learning differences achieve behavioral, social, self-management, and academic
goals. We address our clients' unique needs and challenges with each of our
behavioral services:
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) - ABA is a scientific method of
instruction that uses research-based tactics and positive reinforcement to
address deficits and support strengths. We track progress and ensure
optimal learning by recording and graphing data during each ABA session.
Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) - Functional Behavior
Assessments determine the cause of a particular behavior through in-context
observations of the environment and related factors. This is often
followed by a Behavior Intervention Plan, which is a series of
prescribed tactics for caretakers to utilize in changing problem
behaviors.
Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) - A Behavior Intervention Plan
provides instructions for caretakers to manage inappropriate behaviors and
teach replacement behaviors at home, school, or in social settings.
Social Skills - Our Social Skills programs address the individual needs of
each client to create confidence in the social world. We select teaching
settings that maximize learning for each student, which may include one-onone,
dyad, small group, or large group instruction.
Parent & Staff Training - We recognize that caretakers play a tremendous
role in the progress of our clients. As a result, we offer training for parents
and staff to maintain and expand on what their child learns at our center.
